Oral History of Longfellow Creek
Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is gathering personal memories and experiences of long-time residents of Longfellow Creek and the surrounding area for its Historical Ecology Project. This information will help efforts to increase understanding of the creek, improve creek health for people, fish, and wildlife, and protect this unique natural treasure in your neighborhood. Some of the topics we would like to explore include what kinds of fish lived in the creek, how people used the creek and what role the creek played in the community. Please contact Leah Hausman at Washington Trout at 425-788-1167 or by email at leah@washingtontrout.org if you would like to be interviewed, have any photos to share, or can suggest someone who may wish to participate. Interviews would take place at a time and location most convenient for you during February and March. Leah will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the interviews.
We hope that you will share your memories and experiences from your life and Longfellow Creek with us. Personal histories from people like yourself are an important contribution to the community and may otherwise be lost. Thank you very much for your time and we hope you will contact us soon.

I seem to remember pulling crawfish from that creek, down by the golf course. In 1992-3 I participated in creating the park next to the high school.
